    Let the present ages of P and Q be 7x and 8x years respectively. According to the question, => (8x + 8) = 2 × (7x – 5) => 8x + 8 = 14x – 10 => 6x = 18 => x = 3 Therefore, the present age of Q = 8x = 24 years
