    Sum of present ages of Laxman and his grandmother = 38 X 2 = 76 years Let the present age of Laxman = 'x' years Then, present age of Laxman's grandmother = (76 - x) years According to the question, (x + 4) X 3 = (76 - x) Or, 3x + 12 = 76 - x Or, 4x = 64 So, x = (64/4) = 16 And so, present age of Laxman's grandmother = 76 - 16 = 60 years Hence, option a.
