Question

In the Reebok factory, there are two units of workers, I and II, with a strength ratio of 2:1. The ratio of male to female in Unit I is 3:1, and in Unit II, it is 3:5. Workers from both units are arranged in rows of male and female, with each row having an equal number of workers. If the maximum number of workers possible in a row is 96, what is the difference between the number of Females in Unit I and Unit II?

A 32 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B 96 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 128 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 48 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    Let the strength of Unit I = 16k and Unit II = 8k Unit I ratio of Male: female = 3: 1  → male = 12k and female = 4k Unit II ratio of Male: female = 3: 5  → Male = 3k and female = 5k (I + II) – Male = 15k and Female = 9k Maximum number of workers in a row  = HCF (15k, 9k)  = 3k → 3k = 96 → k=32 Difference between females of Unit I and II  = 5k – 4k  = k → 1× 32  = 32.
