    Let the expenses of per student per week= Rs. x Hence, total expenditure of 220 students per week = Rs. 220x According to the question, 220x – 800 = (220 – 20 ) × (x + 1) 220x – 800 = 200x + 200 220x - 200x = 200 + 800 x = 50 Initial expenditure of mess weekly= 50 × 220 = Rs. 11,000
