    ‘x’ months and Rs. 1800 for 16 months, respectively. Out of total profit of Rs. 3500, profit share of B is Rs. 2800. Find the value of x.

    Solution

    Ratio of profit share of A to B = (1200 × x):(1800 × 16) = x : 24
    According to question,
    x/24 = (3500 – 2800)/2800
    x/24 = 700/2800
    x = 24/4
    x = 6 months
