    Solution

    Total age of 15 girls = 15 × 45 = 675 years   If the age of one more girl is added the average decreases by half a year,   ∴ Total age of 16 girls = 44.5 × 16 = 712    Now, Age of the new person = 712 – 675 = 37 years
