The sum of the weight of 4 persons = 40 × 4 = 160 kg Let the weight of the lightest person = ‘x’ kg The weight of the heaviest person = (x + 26) kg The sum of the weight of the remaining two persons = 40 × 2 = 80 kg According to the question, x + x + 26 + 80 = 160 2x = 54 x = 27 The weight of the heaviest person = 27 + 26 = 53 kg
