    number of students in A is 40% more than that in B. The average marks of students in B are 50% more than that of students in A. If the average marks of all the students in A and Bare 58, then what are the average marks of students in A?

    Let the number of students in class B is x then the number of students in class A will be = 1.4x Let the average marks of students in class A is y then the average marks of students in class B will be = 1.5y Now given, average of both the class is 58. Thus, (1.4x × y + x ×1.5y)/(x+1.4x) =58 1.4y +1.5y =58×2.4 y = (58×2.4)/2.9 =48.
