ATQ, Total weight of the group = (x - 3) × (x + 4) kg Weight of office manager = 54 kg According to question, {(x - 3)(x + 4) + 54}/{(x – 3) + 1} = (x + 4) + 1 (x - 3)(x + 4) + 54 = (x + 4)(x – 3) + (x – 3) + (x + 4) + 1 54 = 2x + 1 + 1 2x = 54 – 2 x = 52/2 x = 26 So, strength of group = 26 – 3 = 23
