    and 22 km/hr respectively. Time taken to travel a distance of (p + 45) km downstream and (q + 30) km upstream is 13 hours, and time taken to travel (p + 95) km upstream and (q + 55) km downstream is 19 hours. Find the difference between the value of p and value of q.

    According to question, (p+45)/26+(q+30)/22=13 (2p+90+3q+90)/52=13 2p+3q=676–180=496 … (iii) Also, (p+95)/22+(q+55)/26=19 (3p+285+2q+110)/52=19 3p+2q=988–395=593 … (iv) Solving equation (iii) and (iv), we get, p=113 and q=90 Therefore, required difference = 113 – 90 = 23
