    The question consists of two statements numbered

    “I and II” given below it. You have to decide whether the data provided in the statements are sufficient to answer the question. In how many days, 10 men would complete a work? Statement I : 4 men and 6 women can complete same work in 20 days. Statement II : Number of days taken by 2 men to complete a work is same as number of days taken by 3 women for same work.

    Solution

    From statement I: 4M + 6W = 20 --------(i) From Statement II: 2M = 3W--------(i) Combining statements, I and II, we will get the answer W = 2M/3 putting the value of W in equation i 4M + 6 × 2M/3 = 20 8M = 20 M = 20×8 10M = (20×8)÷ 10 = 16 days
