    5 points are given to a team for winning a match and 2 points are subtracted  for losing every match. If at the end of the tournament the score of a team is 265. Then how many matches are won by the team?

    Solution

    Let the number of matches won by team be w And the number of matches loose by team be x So, 5w - 2x = 265 …… (1) And as it is given in the question that total matches played =60  So, w + x = 60….. (2) On Solving  both the equations  We get, w = 55
