Let the length and breadth of the rectangle be 5x cm and 4x cm, respectively According to the question, 2 × (5x + 4x) = 252 Or, x = 126/9 = 14 Therefore, each side of the square = 1.25 × 4x = 70 cm Perimeter of the square = 4 × 70 = 280 cm Required difference = 280 – 252 = 28 cm
