    ratio 4 ∶ 5. The perimeter of the room is 180 m. Cost of flooring is Rs. 75 per square metre. Find the cost of flooring the room.

    Solution

    Let the length and breadth of rectangular room is 4x and 5x respectively. ⇒  2 × (4x + 5x) = 180 ⇒  18x = 180 ⇒  x = 10 Area of floor = length × breadth ⇒  (4 × 10) × (5 × 10) ⇒  2000 m2 Cost of flooring = 2000 × 75 = Rs. 1,50,000
