The breadth of a rectangle is increased by 5 cm, it will
become twice the length of the rectangle. If the new perimeter is 330 cm, then find the original area (in sq.cm) of the rectangle.Solution
Let the length of the rectangle be l cm. Breadth = 2l cm According to the question, => 2(l + 2l) = 330 => 3l = 165 => l = 55 So, breadth = 55 - 5 = 50 cm Original area = 55 × 50 = 2750 cm2
