    Solution

    The diagonals of a rhombus bisect each other at right angles. The side of the rhombus = √[(16/2)² + (12/2)²] = √[8² + 6²] = √[64 + 36] = √100 = 10 cm. Perimeter = 4 * 10 = 40 cm.
