    Area of the inner rectangle = 16m × 20m = 320 m 2 Width of outer road = 6 m So length of outer rectangle = 16 + 12 = 28 m & breadth of outer rectangle = 20 + 12 = 32 m Area of Path = Area of outer rectangle – Area of inner rectangle = 28 × 32 – 16 × 20 = 896 – 320 = 576 m 2
