    A 1650 ml Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    B 148.5 ml Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    C 216 ml Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    D 160 ml Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    E None of these Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    Let original quantity of alcohol and water in the mixture be 9x ml and 4x ml respectively.
    Quantity of alcohol in 221 ml of mixture = 9/13 × 221 = 153 ml
    Quantity of water in 221 ml of mixture = 221 – 153 = 68 ml
    According o question;
    9x – 153 + 25 + 20 = 4x – 68 + 80
    or, 5x = 120
    so, x = 24
    Original quantity of alcohol in the mixture = 9 × 24 = 216 ml
