Total quantity of mixture ‘P’ is 420 litres while the quantity of alcohol in mixture ‘Q’ is 25 litres more than that in mixture ‘P’. Find quantity of water in mixture ‘Q’.

    Let the quantity of alcohol in mixture ‘P’ = 15x litres Then, quantity of water in mixture ‘P’ = 13x litres According to the question, 15x + 13x = 420 Or, x = 420/28 = 15 Total quantity of alcohol in mixture ‘Q’ = 15x + 25 = 225 + 25 = 250 litres Quantity of water in mixture ‘Q’ = 250 × (3/5) = 150 litres
