    100 litres of mixture contains water and milk in the

    ratio 2:3 respectively. If 20 litres of the mixture is replaced by same quantity of water, then find the ratio of water and milk in the final mixture.

    Solution

    Remaining quantity of the original mixture = 100 – 20 = 80 litres Quantity of water in the final mixture = 80 x (2/5) + 20 = 52 litres Quantity of milk in the final mixture = 80 x (3/5) = 48 litres Ratio of water and milk in the final mixture = 52 : 48 = 13:12
