    Let the initial quantity of milk and water be '7a' and '12a' litres respectively. So, (7a + 12) :(12a + 6) = 20:27 Or, 27 X (7a + 12) = 20 X (12a + 6) Or, 189a + 324 = 240a + 120 Or, 51a = 204 Or, 'a' = 4 Final quantity of mixture = 7a + 12a + 12 + 6 = 19a + 18 = 19 X 4 + 18 = 94 litres
