    Solution

    Let x litres of vinegar was taken out.
    The quantity of water in the mixture = 2.4 litres
    So, (8 - x)/(2.4) = 7/3
    => 24 - 3x = 16.8
    => 3x = 7.2
    => x = 2.4 litres
