    Let the fraction is x/y As per question (x +1 )/(y- 1 ) = 1 x + 1 = y – 1 x-y = - 2 ……………(i) x/(y +7)= 1/4 4x = y+ 7………………(ii) By solving these equations, we get x = 3 Putting the value of x in equation (i), we get 3 – y = -2 – y = - 5 y = 5 So the fraction is 3/5
