    Let the total number of students in a class be x According to the question, Number of girls = 2x/5 and number of boys = x - 2x/5 = 3x/5 Number of girls who are absent = 2x/5 x 4x/9 = (8x)/45 and number of boys who are absent = 3x/5 x 1x/3 = x/5 Total number of students who are present = x - (8x/45) - x/5 = (45x - 8x - 9x)/45 = (28x/45) The 28/45 part of the students is present in the class
