    A told B, "If you give me half of the money that you

    have, then I will have Rs 110 and if I give you half of my money then you will have Rs 100." How much money do A and B have respectively?

    Solution

    Let the amount of money with A and B be Rs a and Rs b respectively.
    Hence according to the 1st condition, a + b/2 = 110 .. (1)
    Similarly, b + a/2 = 100... (2)
    Solving Equation (1) and (2) we get,
    a = 80 and b = 60
