    A started a business with an initial capital of Rs.

    10,000. After 3 months, B joined the business with a capital that is x% of A’s initial capital. At the end of the year, the total profit of the business was Rs. 25,000, out of which B received Rs. 9,000 as his share. Find the value of x.

    Solution

    Profit share of A: B = (10000 × 12): (x% of 10000 × 9) = 400: 3x According to question, 3x/ (400 + 3x) = 9000/25000 25x = 1200 + 9x 16x = 1200 x = 75 So, the value of ‘x’ = 75%
