    ATQ, Let the total number of valid votes be '100p'. Number of valid votes for the winning candidate = 0.60 × 100p = 60p Number of valid votes for the losing candidate = 100p - 60p = 40p So, 60p - 40p = 1,500 Or, 20p = 1,500 p = 1,500 ÷ 20 = 75 Total number of valid votes = 75 × 100 = 7,500 Therefore, total number of votes (valid and invalid) = 7,500 + 300 = 7,800.
