    Let, the number of male workers in the factory be 'x'. So, the number of female workers = 1.40 X x = '1.4x' ATQ, x + 1.4x = 480 Or, 2.4x = 480 Or, x = (480/2.4) = 200 So, the number of female workers in the factory = 1.4x = 1.4 X 200 = 280
