    Let the cost price and marked price of the article be Rs. 8x and Rs. 11x, respectively Therefore, selling price of the article = 1.25 × 8x = Rs. 10x According to the question, 11x – 10x = 600 Or, x = 600 Therefore, amount by which article is marked up above its cost price = 11x – 8x = 3x = Rs. 1800
