Question

Solve the quadratic equations and determine the relation

    between x and y: Equation 1:  3x2 + 6√7x - 315 = 0          Equation 2: 2y2 - 13√7y + 140 = 0
    A if x < y Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    B if x > y Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    C if x ≥ y Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    D if x ≤ y Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E if x = y or the relationship cannot be established. Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    I. 3x2 + 6√7x - 315 = 0        Pairs = -9√7, 15√7 And now dividing by a and by changing the sign we get,  x = 3√7, -5√7 II. 2y2 - 13√7y + 140 = 0 Pairs = -8√7, -5√7 And now dividing by a and by changing the sign we get,  y = 4√7, 2.5√7 ∴ The relationship between x and y cannot be established.
