    (p + 1)x2 - 8(p + 1)x + 8(p + 16) = 0, p ≠ -1 Since, above equation has equal roots, So discriminant, D = b2 -4ac = 0 Hence {-8(p + 1)}2 - 4 (p + 1) 8(p + 16) = 0 or 32(p+1) { 2p - (p+16)} = 0 or 32(p+1) (p-14) = 0 So p = -1, 14 as p ≠ -1, So p = 14
