    Solution

    Let the quantity of the cheaper rice (costing Rs 60 per kg) be x kg and the quantity of the costlier rice (costing Rs 80 per kg) be (80-x) kg. Total Cost price of the mixture = 60x + 80(80-x) = 6400 – 20x Total selling price of mixture = 80×85 = 6800 125% of cost price = 6800 Cost price = 6800/125 ×100 = 5440 6400 – 20x =5440 20x = 960 x = 48 quantity of the cheaper rice = x = 48 kg
