    Solution

    The outer dimensions of the field are length = 120 m and width = 80 m. With the pathway along the inside edge, the inner dimensions are reduced by 2 meters on each side. So, inner length = 120 - 4 = 116 m and inner width = 80 - 4 = 76 m. Area of the outer rectangle = 120 * 80 = 9600 m². Area of the inner rectangle = 116 * 76 = 8816 m². Area of the pathway = 9600 - 8816 = 784 m². Answer: b) 784 m²
