    Solution

    Let initially the number of males and females in an office be 9x and 4x respectively. According to the question, => (9x + 2) : (4x – 8) = 5:2 => 18x + 4 = 20x – 40 => x = 22 Therefore, number of females in an office = 4 x 22 = 88
