    Solution

    Let initially the number of males and females in an office be 12x and 7x respectively. According to the question, => (12x + 4) : (7x – 5) = 5:2 => 24x + 8 = 35x – 25 => x = 3 Therefore, number of females in an office = 7 x 3 = 21
