    Let the number of males and females be 4x and 5x respectively. Percentage of children among females = 25% So, 75% of females are adults, => 75/100×5x = 4875 => 5x = 6500 => x = 1300 Total population = 4x + 5x = 9x = 9×1300 = 11700
