Let the amount lent at 5% rate = Rs. x. Then, amount lent at 8% rate = 6000 - x So, => 5% of x + 8% of (6000 - x) = 435 => 8% of 6000 – 3% of x = 435 => 480 – 3% of x = 435 => 3% of x = 45 => x = (45/3) × 100 => x = Rs. 1500 Amount lent at 5% rate = Rs. 1500 Amount lent at 8% rate = 6000 – 1500 = Rs.4500
