    A man invested Rs. 'D' at simple interest of 22% and Rs.

    'D + 5000' at simple interest of 18% p.a., for 2 years each. If the interest earned from both investments is the same, then find the sum invested at the lower rate of interest.

    ATQ, Simple interest = Sum X rate of interest X time period of investment ÷ 100 ATQ; \ Or, 4.4D = (D+5000)×3.6 Or, 4.4D = 3.6D+18000 Or, 0.8D = 18000 Or, D = 22500 So, sum invested at lower interest = 22500 + 5000 = Rs. 27,500
