    Solution

    Let the two parts be x and y. For the first part. T = 5 years and r = 10% For the second part. T = 6 years and r = 9% According to the question (x x 5 x 10)/100 = (y x 6 x 9)/100 50x = 54y x: y = 54:50 x: y = 27:25 The sum placed at 10% for 5 years = [27/ (27 + 25)] × 26000 = (27/52) x 26000   = 13500
