    Solution

    Distance = Difference in time x (S1 x S2)/(S1 – S2) D = [14 – 8]/60 x {(50 x 40)/[50 – 40]} => (6/60) x (50 x 40)/10 => 20 km Time, T = D/S (take any one of the speed) => 20/40 = 20/40 x 60 = 30 minutes Then, correct time is 30 – 14 = 16 minutes
