    respectively. If the time taken by the car to cover a distance of ‘8x’ km is 1 hour less than time taken by the bus to cover a distance of ‘6x’ km, then find the value of ‘8x’.

    Solution

    According to the question, (6x/15) – (8x/25) = 1 Or, (6x × 5 – 8x × 3) ÷ 75 = 1 Or, (30x – 24x) ÷ 75 = 1 So, x = 12.5 Required value = 8 × 12.5 = 100
