Let the length of train ‘A’ be ‘x’ meters. Therefore, length of the goods train = ‘4x’ meters Speed of train ‘A’ = 19.8 × (5/18) = 5.5 m/s According to the question, 4x + x = 5.5 × 40 => 5x = 220 => x = 44 Therefore, time taken by train ‘B’ to cross train ‘A’ = {(44 + 300)/ (5.5 + 9)} = 23.7 seconds
