Question
Virat can do a piece of work in 26 days and Sachin can
do the same work in 39 days. If Virat works for 5 days and got Rs. 3000, and the remaining work will completed by Sachin, then how much rupee Sachin earned?Solution
Assume total work = LCM (26, 39) = 78 If the entire work is 78 units, Virat can complete 3 unit per day, and Sachin can complete 2 unit per days In 5 days, Virat completes 15 units and got Rs.3000 i.e. Rs.200 per unit. Remaining work = (78 – 15)unit = 63 unit ∴ Sachin earning = Rs.63 × 200 = Rs. 12600
