Question
Virat can do a piece of work in 30 days and Sachin can
do the same work in 45 days. If Virat works for 5 days and got Rs. 2100, and the remaining work will completed by Sachin, then how much rupee Sachin earned?Solution
Assume total work = LCM (30, 45) = 90 If the entire work is 90 units, Virat can complete 3 unit per day, and Sachin can complete 2 unit per days In 5 days, Virat completes 15 units and got Rs.2100 i.e. Rs.140 per unit. Remaining work = (90 – 15)unit = 75 unit ∴ Sachin earning = Rs.75 × 140 = Rs. 10500
