    We can see that x is common in this question, so we will take x = 1 Now according to question, 1 M = y days---------(i) 0.9 W = 3 (y – 8) days -------(ii) 0.8 W = 36 × 3 = 108 days--------(iii) Now, equating equation (ii) and (iii) => 0.9 W × 3(y – 8) = 0.8 × 108 => y – 8 = 32 => y = 40 1 man can do a piece of work in 40 days 0.5 men can complete 1/4th of the work in 80/4 = 20 days
