    Let total work = 120 units A does 45% of the work=120×45/100=36 Since A does 45% of the work (i.e. 36 units) in 12 days, A = 36/12 = 3 units per day Work left = 120 − 36 = 84 units Let B do x units of work per day. B and A finish the pending work in 4 days. ∴ 4(x + 3) = 84 ∴ 4x = 84 − 12 = 72 i.e. x = 18 units ∴ Time taken by B to complete the work = 120/18 = 6+2/3 days
