    ATQ, Total work = 50workers × 80days = 4000worker-days Work completed = 1/4 of total work = 4000/4 = 1000 worker-days Remaining work = 4000 worker-days − 1000 worker-days = 3000 worker-days Days left =80 days − 50 days = 30 days Hence, Number of workers needed = {3000 worker-days/30 days} =100 workers Therefore Number of extra workers required: Extra workers needed = 100 workers − 50 workers = 50 workers Thus, the contractor needs to hire 50 extra workers to complete the work on time.
