If 5 children and 7 women started working and after 4 days 2 women left the work and 4 new children joined then, in how many more days will the work be completed:

     One day work of children = one-third of work done by women in one day Let efficiency of one women = W unit/day And efficiency of one child = C So, W = 3C Total work = (8C + 6 x 3C) × 10 =260C unit 5 children and 7 women started working for 4 days Total work done = (5C + 7 × 3C) × 4 = 104C Left work = 260C – 104C = 156C 2 women replace 4 children = (9C + 15C) = 24C Days required = 156C/24C = 6.5 days
