    Speed of the shorter train = 160/8 = 20 m/sec Let the speed of the longer train be x km/hr According to the question, ⇒ (20 + x) = (160 + 290)/10 ⇒ 20 + x = 450/10 ⇒ x = 45 – 20 = 25 ⇒ x = 25 x 18/5 = 90 km/hr.
