    In the following questions, the symbols @, ©, %, * and $ are used with the following meaning as illustrated below:    ‘E © F’ means ‘E is not greater than F’.   ‘E $ F’ means ‘E is not smaller than F’.  ‘E @ F’ means ‘E is neither smaller than nor greater than F.  ‘E * F’ means ‘E is neither equal to nor greater than F’.  ‘E % F’ means ‘E is neither smaller than nor equal to F’.  Now in each of the following questions, assuming the given statements to be true, find which of the three conclusions I, II and III given below them is/are definitely true and give your answer accordingly

    Conclusions:  I. X @ Z   II. Z * A  III. Z % X

    Solution

    Combined Inequality: A ≥ B < X ≤ Y = Z  Decoded conclusion: I. X = Z                         II. Z < A                III. Z > X A ≥ B < X ≤ Y = Z                 X ≤ Z. Conclusion I and III will make a complementary pair. A ≥ B < X ≤ Y = Z                 No relationship can be established between Z and A. Hence conclusion II is not true.
